Don't forget the Ellie Bean

Go Boise State. Ellie is decked out for the game against Oregon State
Ellie and Autumn driving the fire truck at one of our favorite parks. Autumn lives a few houses away and was born 5 days before Ellie. They had fun exploring and playing together.

The Amahs and the Babas: My parents passed the baton to Ian's parents on Saturday. My parents came the day before Garrett was born and stayed for a week and Ian's parents are here now. Everyone has been on full Ellie duty and she is having many wonderful adventures with both sets of grandparents. We really appreciate them all.

Ian and Heather's Babymoon to Kauai

We had a great time in Kauai. We were there for our good friend J. Wayne's wedding (he is "The Reverend" from our wedding). Our trip consisted of relaxing by the pool, eating, and hanging out with good friends. Thank you again Amah Marilyn, Baba Mike, Auntie Becca and Lillian for making the trip possible.
From Left to Right, Loma Linda ER reunion: Tom Forney, Oahu. Rebecca Walker, works once a month in Kauai. Avi Patil, ER at Stanford. Us. Tim Young, Peds ER at Loma Linda. Travis Parker, Kauai. J. Wayne Burris, Kauai. Jodee Crane (no relation, although a lot of people asked me about that), his new bride. Veda, Travis' older daughter.

My good friends: Kaycee Parker and Amber Young.

The very relaxed couple at their cool hotel.

Updates in Ellie's Life

Sweet girls: Ellie and Autumn enjoy "dipper" donuts at the Farmer's Market this Saturday Ellie, Autumn and Lukas made a beeline for the mini-donut stand. We had a nice morning with Kristie (Titi), Judd (Dud), Lukas (Ellie can't say his name yet), and Autumn (Abba) our friends and neighbors. Ian finished his fantasy football draft and rode his bike to join us.

Western Idaho Fair: We had a great time at the fair the other night. Ellie loved the little chicks that had just hatched. She also enjoyed people watching. Maybe next year she can go on a few rides (She was just shy of the 36 inch height cut-off).
Glorious fair food: BBQ, Fry bread taco, corn dog, lemonade
Peanut butter jelly time
Outside Dining: Ellie's latest favorite past-time

Some of the latest escapades

She picked out the outfit herself. She decided, even though it was 90 degrees, that she wanted to wear her hat and needed a backpack to go with it. So we went calling on our neighbors to say hello, dressed up proper-like.

Ellie's cool pool look. She was hanging out with Ashley, one of her nannies, who bought her this cute little dress in Mexico. They sat by the pool and had shave ice.

Pinkalicious...Ellie really likes this book about a little girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and develops Pinkititis and has to eat green vegetables to counteract the effects. So one day we made pink cupcakes with pink frosting and dressed up in all pink. This is her excited look.

New summer fashion: It's boots and pajamas, watch out Yves St. Laurent

I'm smiling.... Hello my fans. Someday my mother will get my haircut.

The end.

Ellie is starting to talk up a storm. Examples include: shoes, zoo (zhoo), boots, elbow, knee, boat, didi (Lilly, her cousin), baba (grandpa), amma (grandma), abba peese (help please), ya ma (yes, mama), bye daddy. Other endearing expressions are "Dada zhhhh" (dada plays Wii), "Dada fpfpfpfp (sipping sound)" (dada drinks coffee).
She proudly points out to everyone who walks past the coffee dispensers at our local bagel store that her dada drinks their coffee. The ladies at the bagel store love her and sign her blueberry bagels with a smiley face. They chastise me if I come in without her. I'm glad she brings smiles to them. It makes me happy to see it.
